Doxess has developed a series of products that are optimized
for developing and deploying a customized, web-based document assembly
and work flow solution. The products are available individually,

Scaleable Architecture
The Doxess solution is designed for commercial enterprise-wide
deployment and includes redundancy and roll-over in order to maintain
availability in the event of a system failure.
The Doxess solution is designed to provide extremely high throughput in
a distributed enterprise environment. Key technical features include:
- True scalability of system architecture providing system redundancy
and accommodation of significantly increased transaction count
- Load balancing at the web server, database server and document
generation server levels
- Optimized data flow between web servers and SQL database servers
(see the SQL DataPipe for more information)
- Implementation of true stateless transactions, allowing for
load balancing and automatic roll-over between web servers.
Laboratory and real-world stress testing show that each document
generator can create between 600 and 1000 complex documents per
hour. This assumes documents are between 3 and 24 pages and the
solution is run on a single CPU server running at 900Mhz.
Performance Focus
Time is money. That's why we've optimized our system configuration
process and the document handling process.
Throughput and responsiveness are key in the work flow process.
Whereas throughput determines the number of tasks that can be
processed per hour, responsiveness is the time a user must wait
before continuing with another process. Doxess solutions have been designed
for maximum responsiveness.
High responsiveness and low waiting time is in part achieved by
SQL Datapipe (database accelerator) and in part by technology.
Asynchronous processing provides support
Most work flow solutions increase database throughput by adding
processing power and servers. At Doxess, we believe this does not
always result in improved responsiveness. Doxess solutions are designed so that the user
does not wait for large complex tasks(document generation) to be processed.
These documents are processed in the background on separate servers (asynchronously),
leaving the web server free to service user requests.

Document Formats
Doxess generates documents in two widely used formats - Microsoft Word
and/or Adobe Acrobat PDF. Documents
generated and delivered in Microsoft Word format can be further modified by the user.

Doxess is a
Microsoft Certified Partner. The Doxess solution is based
on Microsoft's suite of enterprise solutions, including Active
Server Pages (ASP), Microsoft Queue, Windows 2000, ISAPI, SQL server, Internet Information Server (IIS).
By using Microsoft's integrated solutions, Doxess
has been able to achieve the platform stability and performance
objectives deemed essential to meet today's needs.
